FAQ
How do I use the cheat sheets?
This project is a lightweight collection of checklist sheets, covering all items, NPCs, questlines, bosses, achievements and more. If you care about spoilers, I recommend that you experience the game on your own first, then use the cheat sheets for a later playthrough.
See the Steam Guide for more details.
Open the menu and select a sheet to get started
Info about stats, soft caps, upgrade tables, and rune item values can be found on the Resources sheet.
The Walkthrough contains a step-by-step checklist guide through the entire game, covering as much as possible in a single playthrough. Due to the sheer size of the walkthrough, I've moved the DLC to its own dedicated page: DLC Walkthrough.
If you're not interested in a guided approach, but don't want to miss questlines or bosses, check out NPC Walkthrough and Bosses. Additionally, all questlines can be found on the Questlines sheet.
You can track all achievements and legendary equipment on the Achievements sheet.
The Weapons, Armor, Ashes, and Spells sheets can be used to track items in their respective categories. For tracking merchant inventories, check out Merchants.
For miscellaneous items, such as Cookbooks, Talismans, Gestures, etc., check out Talismans, Key Items and Miscellaneous Items.
If you're about to start NG+, check out New Game Plus to see if you've got everything you need.
Configure color themes, import existing profiles, and back up your progress on the Options page.
Keyboard shortcuts:

What's included in the walkthrough?
The walkthrough DOES NOT COVER:
- Items that require farming or crafting materials collected from the environment (e.g., Rowa Fruit, Arteria Leaf).
- Scarabs that respawn, such as Crimson and Cerulean Tear Scarabs, which refill your flasks charges.
- Finger Reader Crones, Spirits, and Sword Monuments that players can interact with for lore tidbits.
- Gatekeeper Statues, Birdseye Telescopes, and Stakes of Marika.
- Martyr Effigies that activate co-op summon signs for an area.
The walkthrough COVERS:
- Every single item pickup in the base game and DLC.
- All achievements, NPCs, questlines, and bosses in progression order.
- All sites of grace, gestures, ashes of war, spirit ashes, talismans, and paintings.
- All Ash of War, Glintstone, Incantation, and Somber Scarabs.
- All Scadutree fragments and Revered Spirit Ashes.
- All Bolstering materials collected from the environment, such as Smithing Stones and Gloveworts.
Do I have to follow every step in order?
Not at all. You can always jump back and forth and complete sections in any order; just be mindful that doing some things too early might end certain questlines. There's no shame in saving a boss you find too difficult for later.
This project was primarily intended to be a medium-sized Excel sheet for my cousin and me. Since I am a completionist, I felt like routing every step in the game to make sure that I don't miss anything it has to offer. The Walkthrough represents how I prefer to complete the game, reducing as much backtracking as possible while keeping a natural order of progression.
Elden Ring is a massive game, so if you'd rather play at your own pace, but don't wanna miss any questlines, try the NPC Walkthrough instead.
Will I get all achievements if I follow the guide?
Yes, you will get all 42 achievements just by following the Walkthrough. No planning needed! Use the Achievements sheet if you'd like to track your achievements and legendary items.
Is there anything missable in Elden Ring?
Unfortunately a ton of things are missable. The Walkthrough currently has 116 missable steps and the unfinished DLC Walkthrough is already at around 25. While some are quest-related, three achievements can be permanently missed until your next playthrough.
Every MISSABLE tag can be hovered over to see why that step is missable. If you're on mobile, you can tap the tag to see the explanation. Feel free to try it with the above tag.
Optional steps, or missable entries that don't give any reward, are marked as Optional. You won't miss anything if you're following the Walkthrough though.
What level should I be for each area?
I provide recommended level ranges for each area based on my walkthrough runs where I intentionally stay underleveled, avoiding all enemies in the open world and only engaging in combat inside of legacy dungeons.
These ranges don't necessarily represent the difficulty of an area, but rather the level you're likely to reach naturally when following the walkthrough. They are suggestions based on my own characters, and could help you avoid being over- or under-leveled if you want a fairer experience.
If you want a slightly easier playthrough, you could complete all of Altus Plateau before tackling Nokron and the other underground sections.
I accidentally attacked an NPC, what should I do?
You should never attack or kill NPCs unless it's specifically stated to do so. If you attacked an NPC and they're now hostile, you can travel to the Church of Vows and absolve your sins at the statue inside (costs 1 Celestial Dew).
If you've killed an NPC, then their questline is over until you start your next playthrough. Make sure to pick up their Bell Bearing if they were selling items. You may also want to check the questline of your affected NPC in the Questlines sheet.
How do I follow your directions?
Elden Ring uses cardinal, intercardinal and secondary-intercardinal directions. This means the compass can be broken down into 16 directions:
- Cardinal Directions:
- North
- East
- South
- West
- Intercardinal Directions:
- Northeast
- Southeast
- Southwest
- Northwest
- Secondary Intercardinal Directions:
- North-Northeast
- East-Northeast
- East-Southeast
- South-Southeast
- South-Southwest
- West-Southwest
- West-Northwest
- North-Northwest
For an in-game example, northeast would refer to the middle point between north and east. Using the same logic, north-northeast would refer to the middle point between north and northeast, whereas east-northeast would be the middle point between east and northeast. [See visual example]
If a sentence doesn't specify a starting point, you can always assume it begins where the previous step ended.
Can I use this for multiple characters?
Yep, you can create, edit, and delete profiles on the Options page. Your progress will be saved to the currently selected profile. You can also use the NG+ button to only reset progress for the Walkthrough, DLC-Walkthrough, NPC-Walkthrough, Questlines, Bosses, and New Game Plus sheets.
How is my progress saved?
Your progress is stored locally in your browser. This means that deleting your browsing data will destroy any saved progress.
To back up your data, go to Options and select "Backup as file". This will export your data as a JSON file. You can then import your progress on any device by selecting "Restore from file" and choosing the JSON file. On mobile devices, JSON files aren't supported, so use the clipboard options instead to sync your progress.
I found an error! How can I contribute?
It's simple! Just pick an issue and fill in the form (requires a GitHub account) or post a comment on Steam. I'll get around to it as soon as I can.
What else do you have planned?
If there's enough interest, I may consider creating similarly detailed sheets for the other souls games, including Bloodborne and Sekiro. This project is currently far from done though and will continue to receive updates as needed.
I've also been talking to my cousin about making a video guide based on the walkthrough, so be on the lookout for that if you're interested in a video-based walkthrough. Right now we're uploading video locations for every weapon.
